The Muscat grape is one of the oldest, domesticated varieties of grape -- there are hundreds of varietals. It produces a sweet, mineral flavoured wine which can be fermented to dryness -- but is usually made light, sweet, occasionally fortified or sparkling. Muscat vinegar can be used in any application that Champagne vinegar is called for.
