Basmati Rice is an all purpose rice that can be used whenever a long grain rice is needed. Traditionally served
in South Asian cooking, the nutty flavor and firm texture pair well with lentil dishes, spicy curries, stir-frys,
coconut milk dishes, stews and fresh vegetable soups.
Add 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 20
minutes. Remove from heat and let rice sit for 5 minutes before removing the lid. Fluff with a fork before
serving. Yields 3 cups cooked.
